I don't see a scenario where free community college would be a good idea. In fact it's a rather absurd recommendation. First off this would further allow ignorant people to believe that community college education is far less superior to University education. In my case I chose community college in order to stay home for two years and save a ton of money. When answering the question "Where are you going to school?" I often got the response "you're better then that" or something along those lines. The enigma of people feeling superior when attending a University would only grow. Furthermore I can't see why anyone would attend a university unless they had received an academic, athletic, or other scholarship. This would lead to insane over crowding of community college's and being that they would be government funded ,which really means funded by our taxes, if they wanted to accommodate the rising student numbers that would be even more money out of our pockets.
Those at Universities would be paying, or not paying because of scholarships, for their own schooling AND others that are going to community college for free. Many individuals are forced to put themselves through college and they don't just want, a now, free two year degree. As if balancing work, school, and social life isn't enough they would be forced to contribute extra money in taxes to those attending community college. Doing this is bordering on socialist ideals. As if the government needs to find more ways to spend money they obviously don't have as shown in our governments trillion dollars of debt.
The argument for free community college is simply that our economy and country in general benefits with a more intelligent population, an obvious truth. Yet I don't have the confidence to say that the number of educated American's would go up with establishing free community college. Yes they might slightly rise, but what I see happening is an overcrowding of community colleges and much poorer Universities because why would you pay loads of money for the same education you could get for free. Plus, those not attending school after high school is often by choice. If they had the drive to be college educated citizens they would make it happen. College education is not easy and takes serious determination that is why many American's are not college educated. Free community college would just simply extend high school ideals of education. Giving the individual as many tries as they need with no real consequences besides the loss of time.
One thing both sides can agree on is that college, whether community or a university, is ridiculously expensive especially for those putting themselves through it. It's an investment for your future. If community college was made free it would be the only free investment I've ever heard of and it can promise return. Return in the form of money, respect, and accomplishment.

Huckabee, Jon Stewart, Beyonce Criticism
During the interview between ,interviewer, Jon Stewart and ,interviewee, Mike Huckabee it becomes obvious early that the two are on opposite sides of the spectrum. Obvious even to people like me who have yet to find interest in following political characters. Although I've began to become more politically informed, an important aspect in the world today. During the interview there was one particular thing Hukabee speculated that I found myself agreeing with. He said "being well educated is different then being smart." I would even go farther in saying knowledge is different then being intelligent. To me knowledge is nearly synonymous to well educated, meaning "you sure know a lot of "facts"" but don't necessarily know how to apply them in an intelligent way. I also would avoid the word smart because of its inherent broadness, I feel that intelligent is much more to the point.
Later in the interview Jon Stewart references an excerpt from Huckabees's book "God, Guns, Grits, and Gravy" when Huckabee talks about Beyonce and her horrible influence on younger children. This particular instance I just completely disagree with Huckabee. Forgetting the fact that Huckabee was hypocritical when he did nearly the same thing he is condemning, I still disagree with his point. Take Beyonce from an outside view, this is what I see, I see a beautiful women with a long time husband and she has essentially built a corporation around herself. She taught thousands of young women in this male dominated society to be confident with there beauty and that they can more than make prosperous lives for themselves, they can thrive. I'm confused why he didn't choose to talk about someone more like Miley Cyrus who has entirely built her career by making herself, in my opinion, a disgusting sex symbol. Whether she is intelligent because she knows that this road will make her filthy rich or she's just that gross, I believe the latter of the two. She is the definition of a bad example no matter what the reason for her actions, but Beyonce has never taught girls to be anything but confident in their own skin. Just because when men see a women dancing in tight clothes their mind drifts to sexual temptations does not mean that was what was intended by the artist. Beyonce emanates confidence which is so key in a world that will constantly shoot you down.

Destiny?
A few nights ago I was driving to the gym. The gym I go to is about five minutes away from my house. Along the way there is a stoplight where I was forced to stop behind two other cars, one of them a cop. I began to think how disastrous it would have been had I rear ended the cop and it would have undoubtedly ruined my entire evening. I then thought if one, or in this scenario I, made a mistake in rear ending that cop but I was able to turn back time however far I wanted with just one catch; once the aforementioned time was re-winded the individual turning back time was unable to remember that they had just gone back in time. Would the same events occur throughout the time re-winded or would the events occur differently the second time around keeping in mind the individual has no recollection of the shift in time? If your answer is "yes the events will always be the same," does that mean you believe in destiny?
